Man of The Week: Andrew Garfield

There has been many a British actor that has taken to stardom in Hollywood and Andrew Garfield is another to join the band of comic book superheros across the pond.

If you are attentive to film, then you will best know our new Spider-Man infamously for his role in ‘The Social Network’, where he received wider recognition in the retelling of the invention of Facebook. Today however Andrew Garfield is storming red carpets of his own, elegantly dressed and proving once more that fashion is for every man.

With much criticism involved in his role in ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’, we can rest assured that Andrew Garfield has got it right in the limelight that he has recently been highly subjected to. His personal style evokes classic tailoring and Garfield is not shy of wearing a suit. In fact, it appears that this is his comfort zone whilst giving a glimmer of his playful personality at the same time.

Playing a superhero on screen is a contrast to playing a superhero with your style in real life and getting it right in the public eye can go from you being a fashion victim to style hero in a matter of minutes. Staying true to his half British roots, Garfield executes the English gentlemen well whilst playing on a more casual appeal that he has inherited from his LA birthplace. It is nice to see Garfield going from a full Gucci runway look to casual jeans and a jumper and still impressing us with his ability to carry off great style. The ability to behold a sleek look one moment and relaxed another is evidence that this talent knows how to work his way around the fashion web.

Most of all, what keeps us in awe is Andrew Garfield’s ability to be bold and daring like most of us only wish we could. When he wears a suit, he really wears a suit without fearing to explore with colour, patterns and textures. It takes confidence to wear something bold like a red suit and even though our favourite Spider-Man is used to this colour, Garfield has set the bar for tailored looks. At the same time, he is aware of his slim build and emphasizes his looks but dressing exactly for his frame. Take note that his clothes fit him well enhancing his features as opposed to using layering to cover things up.

The Amazing Spider-Man is leading an amazing example of the importance of staying true to your own style is, no matter the situation. Whilst remaining humble regardless of his status, Garfield still remains true to himself and is a reminder that at times we all need to be brave with our individual style and be willing to take a risk.
