How To Style The Crew Neck Jumper

Perfect for relaxing, chilling, socialising and working…  Introducing one of clothing’s most versatile pieces: The Crew Neck Jumper.

There is nothing more comforting than knowing you’re wearing a piece of clothing that can adapt to its environment. The crew neck jumper is the chameleon of clothing; you know, the days when you put on a ‘crew neck’ and never have to worry about being over-dressed.  Branding itself as the ‘laid-back one’ in clothing, it is no less essential than a good pair of shoes or a suit, with the right moves you can pick the right one that does all of the above.

The grey crew neck jumper is the icon of all crew necks, providing flexibility upon flexibility with the avenues you are offered to go down with the style you opt for. The picks I’ve made for these are a prime example of this.

Givenchy’s ‘Stars and Stripes of America’ is one sweater that caught my eye in particular; with a real street style vibe this is sure to be a hit for a mid-day stroll into town. If want something a little less eye catching look at Our Legacy, Acne and APC; who are all offering something a little more subtle. Acne with a plain simple grey crew neck and Swedish brand Our Legacy presenting a grey-flecked jumper, and also APC with a printed jumper; printed crew necks are simple but interesting and are so under-rated they could be worth noting.

Alexander McQueen are also going down the print avenue, with an ensemble medal prints creating the ‘MCQ’ logo on a blue cotton-jersey. Keeping things blue we look at Balmain; with an incredibly modern design with a fleece and cotton blend and some really out there stitching patterns this crew neck jumper is definitely something a bit more unorthodox than your normal crew neck.

Raf Simons became renowned for the less traditional styles of designing and this crew neck is a sample of this. With a graduated tone of burgundy this design is so out their I wouldn’t be surprised if it was something similar to what Felix Baumgartner saw on Sunday afternoon.

Finishing with something subtle we look at Folk, who this season have created a beautifully modest soft pink cotton-blend crew neck, that is the faultless cross between the minimalistic designs of Our Legacy, APC and Acne, and off the cuff designs of Balmain, Raf Simons, Alexander McQueen and Givenchy.
